CHARACTERISTICS

  • Japanese kampo formulation 〈Unseiin〉 is highly effective for dry and itchy skin inflammation, and improves distressing symptoms from inside the body.
  • This medicine is also effective for persons with neurosis that tends to make you feel anxious or frustrated.
  • This medicine is easy-to-take, yellow-brown granules (stick-shaped pouch).

INDICATIONS

The following symptoms in persons with moderate physical strength who have dry skin with poor complexion, and experience hot flushes:
Eczema, dermatitis, neurosis, chinomichi disease, irregular menses, dysmenorrhea, menopausal syndrome

Precautions regarding indications

Chinomichi disease refers to mental and physical symptoms such as mental anxiety or frustration caused by hormonal changes in women in the case of menses, pregnancy, delivery, after childbirth, and menopause.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS

Take the following amount of medicine with cold or lukewarm water before a meal.

INGREDIENTS

Two units of this medicine (3.75g, daily dose for persons aged 15 years or over) contain the following ingredients:

Unseiin extract 1.875g (as dry extract)
Jio (rehmannia root) 1.5g
Shakuyaku (peony root) 1.5g
Senkyu (cnidium rhizome) 1.5g
Toki (Japanese angelica root) 1.5g
Ogon (scutellaria root) 0.75g
Obaku (phellodendron bark) 0.75g
Oren (coptis rhizome) 0.75g
Sanshishi (gardenia fruit) 0.75g
Extracted from the above crude drugs

Inactive ingredients:

Lactose hydrate, magnesium stearate

Precautions regarding ingredients

Since the medicine contains crude drugs, the granules color may vary for individual products; however this has no effect on the efficacy of this medicine.

Who should seek consultation

  1. The following persons should consult a physician, pharmacist or registered salesperson* before taking this medicine:
    1. Persons under treatment by a physician
    2. Women who are or may be pregnant
    3. Persons who have gastrointestinal weakness and are prone to diarrhea
  2. Stop taking this medicine immediately and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if the following symptoms appear after taking this medicine because they might be side effects of the medicine. Take this leaflet with you.

    Digestive organs Loss of appetite, stomach discomfort

    In rare cases, serious symptoms might occur. In such a case, immediately consult a physician.

    Names of symptoms Symptoms
    Interstitial pneumonia When go upstairs or exert yourself too much, symptoms such as shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, dry cough, and fever will appear. They will appear suddenly and persist.
    Hepatic function disorder Symptoms such as fever, itching, rashes, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and white part of the eye), brown urine, heaviness of the whole body, and loss of appetite will appear.
  3. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if the following symptom appear after taking this medicine and continue or worsen. Take this leaflet with you.
    Diarrhea
  4. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for about one month. Take this leaflet with you.

*Registered salesperson: person who has the license to sell OTC medicines except Category 1.

PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Store the medicine in its box in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Keep out of the reach of children.
  3. Do not take this medicine after the expiration date.
  4. When you take this medicine in divided doses, fold over the opened edge of the pouch and store it; the remaining medicine should be taken within 2 days.
