CHARACTERISTICS

  • Japanese kampo formulation 〈Seijobofuto〉 is remarkably effective for acne and improves distressing symptoms from inside the body.
  • This medicine is also highly effective for eczema on the face or head.
  • This medicine is easy-to-take, yellow-brown granules (stick-shaped pouch).

INDICATIONS

The following symptoms in persons with moderate or good physical strength who have a reddish face and sometimes experience hot flushes:
Acne, eczema and dermatitis on the face and head, red nose (rosacea)

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS

Take the following amount of medicine with cold or lukewarm water before a meal.

  1. Children are permitted to take this medicine only under the direction and supervision of a parent or other responsible adult.

INGREDIENTS

Two units of this medicine (3.75g, daily dose for persons aged 15 years or over) contain the following ingredients:

Seijobofuto extract 2.375g (as dry extract)
Ogon (scutellaria root) 1.25g
Kikyo (platycodon root) 1.25g
Sanshishi (gardenia fruit) 1.25g
Senkyu (cnidium rhizome) 1.25g
Hamabofu (glehnia root and rhizome) 1.25g
Byakushi (angelica dahurica root) 1.25g
Rengyo (forsythia fruit) 1.25g
Oren (coptis rhizome) 0.5g
Kanzo (glycyrrhiza) 0.5g
Kijitsu (immature orange) 0.5g
Keigai (schizonepeta spike) 0.5g
Hakka (mentha herb) 0.5g
Extracted from the above crude drugs

Inactive ingredients:

Lactose hydrate, magnesium stearate

Precautions regarding ingredients

Since the medicine contains crude drugs, the granules color may vary for individual products; however this has no effect on the efficacy of this medicine.

    1. Persons under treatment by a physician
    2. Women who are or may be pregnant
    3. Persons who have gastrointestinal weakness
  2. Stop taking this medicine immediately and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if the following symptoms appear after taking this medicine because they might be side effects of the medicine. Take this leaflet with you.

    In rare cases, serious symptoms might occur. In such a case, immediately consult a physician.

    Names of symptoms Symptoms
    Hepatic function disorder Symptoms such as fever, itching, rashes, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and white part of the eye), brown urine, heaviness of the whole body, and loss of appetite will appear.
  3. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for about one month. Take this leaflet with you.
  4. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if, although it is rare, the symptoms progress after taking this medicine. Take this leaflet with you.

*Registered salesperson: person who has the license to sell OTC medicines except Category 1.

PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Store the medicine in its box in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Keep out of the reach of children.
  3. Do not take this medicine after the expiration date.
  4. When you take this medicine in divided doses, fold over the opened edge of the pouch and store it; the remaining medicine should be taken within 2 days.
